“In order to contribute to the creation of a ”healthy country‘ brand and to bring qualified tourists to the country by strengthening the image of Northern Cyprus, a delegation consisting of Dr. İrfan S. Günsel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University, Ahmet Savaşan, member of the Board of Directors of the hospital and General Manager of Tourism Enterprises, and coordinators of the International Patient Coordination Center participated in the Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair ’Emitt 2012' held in Istanbul.
EMITT, the 5th largest tourism fair in the world, which brings together more than 60 countries in Istanbul every year, opened its doors for the 16th time at TÜYAP. At the fair, which will continue until February 12, the Near East University Hospital stand attracted great interest from visitors.
Ahmet Şavaşan, Member of the Board of Directors of Near East University Hospital, stated that they want Northern Cyprus to be perceived as a safe tourism country and said, “I see a good participation in the fair this year. 2011 was a good year in terms of tourism with the contribution of guaranteeing tourist health in the country after our university hospital started to accept patients. As Near East University Hospital, by taking part in the Northern Cyprus stand, we show that Northern Cyprus is a healthy destination. Our goal is to increase the added value within the country by ensuring that more qualified tourists of the third age group come to our country in 2012.”.
